Melbourne Awning Centre was approached as part of the 2012 renovation of St Kilda’s New Market Hotel – owned by the famed Melbourne Pub Group – overseen by Six Degrees architects.

Our brief was to provide a weatherproof retractable roof system to integrate the outdoor dining area with the in. We used our Alutecnic Evo Retractable Roof System to achieve the overall concept created by Six Degrees. Custom fabric was brought in from France to meet the brief with striking effect.

The Alutecnic system can be fully retracted as required to provide open air dining to allow light into the Hotel whilst providing protection, when closed, from inclement weather.
