Sitting on the stunning shores of Lake Mulwala on the Murray River is the Mulwala Water Ski Club. With such lovely views from the balcony, the club required an all-weather solution without taking away the ability of having an open outdoor dining area to enjoy through the summer months.

Working with architect Jarrod Ryan, Melbourne Awning Centre found the best solution was to incorporate retractable roof systems to allow for all-weather protection with the advantage of completely retracting the systems when weather permitted. The challenge facing this project was the 180 sqm of outdoor space that was required to be covered. Four 10m long retractable fabric roof systems where installed side by side on to a custom steel structure allowing the four quadrants to be individually operated.

External blinds with mesh fabric were fitted through the centre of the space to allow the undercover area to be sectioned off for private functions.
