The Gardiner Hotel, part of the Australian Venue Co, is a neighbourhood pub that we have recently helped revitalise the rooftop bar, creating a wonderful atmosphere within this historic building.

Located in the Melbourne suburb of Malvern, we collaborated closely with the designers to create "a space that respects the building’s heritage while introducing a refined, modern hospitality experience," according to Aaron Chen, Creative Director at Red Design Group.

Our expertise allowed us to achieve this perfect balance between old and new, providing an alfresco dining experience on the rooftop terrace. This versatile rooftop retreat shields guests from rain during inclement weather, yet easily opens up so they can bask in the afternoon sun.

About our Product: Our Nomo retractable roof is a proprietary flat pergola system with a retractable fabric roof and custom integrated guttering and drainage, heating and lighting systems. The product was installed using a steel structure fitted to the roof terrace perimeter.

Installation:  This was a large-scale installation and with the consideration of a heritage location, it required a seamless coordination of cranes and manoeuvring of oversized, valuable and bespoke materials.
